eccles
A Farmer mate of mine called at my mothers yesterday for a cuppa. Told her that the dreaded mixy was on his land. Myself and LARRO shot bits of that farm last week no sign then. If its there it will soon be round other farms That area has always had loads of rabbits, seen mixy come and go a lot over the years. They have always returned in good numbers think lot are immune to it now. Will have to go for a walk around a few farms in that area just to see for myself. pigeonblasterian
Had it on one of my perms last year and it nearly wiped out all the rabbits. I was shooting some rabbits that survived it but some had scabs and deformities for a good few months after. The rabbits there are just starting to build up again. Mentalmac
Horrible thing it is. I had to help out a friend who is a domestic rabbit breeder who got it in her cages and had to dispatch a lot of rabbits ranging from really young to adult angora's. Sad. fruity
A vile disease, I shot a couple of rabbits around a week ago with heavily scared faces from where they had managed to overcome it Felt a touch sorry really, they had been all through that and survived for me to shoot them Edited May 21, 2014 by fruity
malantone
I would leave survivors to breed, they may pass on immunity.

Mentalmac
You can eat a mixy rabbit apparently - personally I would just cycle them into the animal food chain instead.

browning123
My permissions get it every year and the rabbits die off, but there are always some left to breed again the following year. I never seem to get the numbers that are in some parts of the country.
eccles
Yes awful disease have never bothered to shoot any infected one's. Over the years had nicked their ears and gone back shooting or ferreting and found them fully recovered. I'm sure if left lot recover and pass on a immune bit to their young. Seen lots on farms at the same time some infected others ok. Will go to have a look next few days and report back. Terry
