Me and Grandad part 2

Once upon a time some place in the uk i went out late friday night to set a crow hide on in a freshly cut grass field and for an added bonus the farmer had spread muck all over the field.

We got there at 04:30 and drove across the field to find that the farmer very nearly spread **** on my hide nets phew.

We spread 20 or so fully flocked crow decoys in a random pattern and sat and waited.

I loaded some of my new black gold 30 g fiber into Percy and within second the first crow bit the dust.

It was like this for two hours me and Grandad could not seem to miss pulling long high shots off, fast slow, long, high totally on form.

We ended the day with 85 corvids and 2 pigeons.

Took two black bags full of crows for the farmer to dispose of and he was made up and thanked me.

very good day had by all, :yahoo::yahoo:

Brilliant youngie that's a cracking bag of blacks and to top it off you spent another amazing day doing what you enjoy, with grandad ! Priceless

Atb Dave

The best thing that happened today was the farmer giving me extra permission in some woodland and he said that i could put some pheasants down.

I will go and way it up to see how much work is needed.

Best Regards

Neil

In your case I would say that the shooting is less important than the quality time spent with your grand dad. His smile must be worth more crows than you could ever shoot.

Hope you have many, many more days like that together mate, and my best wishes and regards to Grand Dad! :good:

can I add to what yougie says,me granddad,,,what he didn't say was cos the shooting was so good an him bein a young un an all he doesn,t have the stamina like us old geezers,so like all good little lads he needed to have a sleep on the grass [cos he was worn out]and it had gone quiet so it was left to me to man the hide, unfortunatly I had gone off the boil for a while an did a few misses but found form again when it livened up again, but a super day was had,,i was up at 03 45 had a 20 mile drive to him and hit the sack at 22 45 hrs night totally wiped out.but wouldn,t swop it for a gold clock.thanks again young un.
