We rescued one being stalked by magpies a few years ago.

It was at the base of a tree from which I presumed he fell.

Anyhoo took it into care fed it on and off for about 6 hours and it guzzled it down.

Woke up in the morning and bless it had died! Rip tweety bird! As my boy called it!

Hope yours is ok!

My Doberman bitch bought one in from the garden a few years ago, completely unharmed, she just gently carried it in and dropped it in front of me. It was a bit wet, so I sat it on the patio table to dry out and after a while it managed to fly into a bush. A couple of hours later it flew off.
