PhilR
OK folks my petrol lawn mower bodywork has finally corroded away rendering it unusable. The little four stroke Briggs & Stratton 35 Classic engine is fine. Does anyone know whether schools or colleges etc could find a use for it for project work. It'll go down to the tip if no-one wants it.
Tis1979
Hi Pal do you know what horse power it is?
PhilR
I'm guessing, but the 35 might indicate it's 3.5HP. There's nothing in the engine booklet that came with the Qualcast mower that gives the HP.
Rimfireboy
I think the 35 is 3.5 hp, I've got a yardman with Briggs & Stratton 50 and it's 5.0 hp and my old 13.5 hp Westwood ride on fitted with Briggs & Stratton 135.

norfolk dumpling
Retired my old Honda l/mower recently. Bodywork falling apart but a mate took the 5hp engine and has made a mini motorcycle for his grandson.
PhilR
Retired my old Honda l/mower recently. Bodywork falling apart but a mate took the 5hp engine and has made a mini motorcycle for his grandson. That's exactly the sort of thing I was thinking of. I've got no time or inclination to make one, nor indeed do I have any kids or grandkids to make it for. It's down the council tip next Saturday. PhilR
That's what my original post was about, it was offered as is. I'm not dismantling the thing only to find there's still no takers.
