jacket for 'in water'

I think I am going to invest in a new jacket.

Not too bothered about how warm it is as I can layer up underneath when needed.

My shooting is often done sitting on the waters surface wearing chest waders. So I am looking for a short 'bomber' style jacket that I can tuck into the waders (to stop water seeping up from jacket tail)

Needs to be 110% waterproof and preferably very tough as I sometimes sit near/in gorse bushes.

Recommendations?

Cheaper the better obviously but I I do want something decent.

I have used wax jackets and ex mod DPM goretex...had no problems with these but seeing if there's any other cheap options.

Also, a dark drab colour to blend with mud..not wanting the fancy new grass/reeds/realtree camo thing

No creeks where I shoot...just big flat expanses of mud below the mhwm

Dog is always has a dry seat, usually behind above the mhwm on the grasses. stay on the right side of the law and have no choice but to be in the water when the tides in.

Will have a look at them nickp, thanks.

I use the Herters wildfowl wading jacket and its great, but don't think it would stand up to the buckthorns and like.

The wax thorn proof Barbour type coats would be your best bet.

The ridge line pintail smock gets good reveiws but don't know about thorn proof.

Waterproofed Kevlar jacket is what you need.

Tough Rubber ex mod multi use poncho.

I spend most of my flights battling to keep myself unstuck from mud.

Shoot on various estuary's in Scotland. My main haunts don't have creeks or gutters to shelter in.

The best flight lines are out over the water so that's where I have to be to get beat chance of a shot. Keep well away from the roosts though! I just wish everybody did!

I see many people a couple of metres above mhwm in order to keep dry and warm...they all say its ok being there, no difference in them couple of metres but the law is the law and I will do my utmost to abide by it.

I often do this myself as the dabbling duck only feed on some marshes when they can filter seeds and graze from the water covering the vegetation, dog just stands but I have seen the yanks use placeboards made from PVC framed push fit waste pipes (tried to get him onto stuff like this but he doesn't like getting on anything that looks like furniture) no probs getting him onto a wall or most other stuff but anything that looks like furniture and he wont have it (vet even examines him on the floor) . Look at Wading jackets used by game fishermen, or just tuck in a Military Gortex (just let it bag out and overhang or rain will run down it and funnel into your wader tops in quantity)
