fendrover90
Why waste time when there not down here flighting the marsh we've got more inland duck and goose shooting than we know what to do with so until the pinks start flighting the wash we are quite happy to keep flighting ducks off the drain or decoying greys on the stubble I couldnt give two flying ducks whether you call it wildfowling or not
kent
I think there are more important things than the correct term. A fair and sporting bag
lee35
I know lets call it stubble fowling is that more appropriate for certain people Edited September 11, 2014 by lee35

fendrover90
This is true kent the yuku wildfowl forum suffered from this labeling thingy when a few were getting bags on the stubble when the hardcore fowlers were struggling early season but by calling inland goose shooting not proper fowling they somehow think they're giving themselves a pat on the back for being "proper " wildfowlers Good old boys you keep plugging away at it so will we until the geese show themselves on the wash until that time we will keep fowling the stubble and filling the freezer Toodle pip

I shouldn't personally go mad to shoot geese inland but that's just me as I enjoy the stuff below the mean high water mark so much more. If you want to call it wildfowling carry on - I don't go to fill my freezer and mostly put the gun down well before flight is over! Sept 1st saw me leaving most of the early skiens to fly over other waiting guns and once I had the perfect chance I took two geese down and then unloaded and watched the flight. Now if my family were starving I should kill anything I could and "sport" for that is what it is involves "fair chase" should be very opposite to my intentions, I cannot measure enjoyment in numbers

Penelope
For me it's the wildfowl first and the location second. This is true kent the yuku wildfowl forum suffered from this labeling thingy when a few were getting bags on the stubble when the hardcore fowlers were struggling early season but by calling inland goose shooting not proper fowling they somehow think they're giving themselves a pat on the back for being "proper " wildfowlers Good old boys you keep plugging away at it so will we until the geese show themselves on the wash until that time we will keep fowling the stubble and filling the freezer Toodle pip
scolopax
No, opposite for me , all about the location. Rather blank on the mud than shoot half a dozen decoyed on a stubble.
