JDog
We are infested with rats and mice at the moment. This little chap will be a help if it didn't keep getting into one of my traps. This tiny member of the Mustelidae family has a similar defence mechanism to that of it's larger cousins ie it releases a very unpleasant odour from glands around it's anus. It just missed me with some of that stuff which I can smell even now from down the garden. As it is my partner in the offensive against rats and mice I let it go. I suspect that I will catch it again.

FalconFN
Good stuff, fearsome little critters, if you're a rodent.

loriusgarrulus
What jdog really needs is a good border/jack cross. No rat problem then and a pal for the spaniel.

fenboy
I caught one in a cage trap while targeting rats a couple of years back , you are right they certainly can cause a stink . Like you I released it thinking it will do more good than harm.
