Remimax
The wife uses a 4 bore but I can't see the point as her tongue has a killing radius of 300 yrds.
weeneebs
My husband has bought me four different guns my husband is a very good shooter and knows his stuff,i have not been shooting long, the first a 12bore AYA he shortened the stalk when i first used it my full shoulder was bruised he then put a thick recoil pad on it i still got a lot of kick from it,he then got me a 20bore semi auto Hatsan excellent gun no kick at all of it i can swing and hit clays all day long with it.He then got me a 12g Fabarm that was ok but i went back to my Hatsan. He then surprised me at the weekend there and got me a 12g s/auto Bereta,so we went out to the clays yesterday,i found it the easiest gun to load so far, still got a wee kick from it but sometimes it is good to feel a wee kick, found this a great wee gun it come up lovley. So now i think i will be sticking to the Bereta, and maybe the Hatsan. So a a woman and going by what you are saying about youre wife i think she would be good with a 20b semi auto Hatsan as there is no recoil at all and it is a nice little light gun.And boys ram youre mop, brush, sponge, saucepan, and oh dont forget the iron where the sun dont shine us women can shoot lol linseyx Edited October 6, 2014 by weeneebs

Hubris
+1 for cookoff13's post #8 .... energy of recoil=mass x velocity x velocity, so less lead helps but less speed helps twice as much. Semi's have less perceivable kick. Also, they are easier for 'less strong' people to hold in a correct position for longer as only one barrel means the weight is further back. On the flip side, depending on what you want to do, they aren't always "acceptable form". Also beware, the lighter the gun, the harder it will kick for the same ammo. A good gun shop should let you take a few out and try them because how they feel to her in the shop and how they feel when she shoots can be two different things.
