steve_b_wales
What are your views on the above scope? Due out soon in the UK, I think it could be a winner.
FalconFN
I've seen a couple of videos, one looks pretty good (but over a short distance) and one looks pretty bad. It would be good to see a side by side comparison with the new Photon XT though.
steve_b_wales
A big difference is that the ATN can be used as a day scope, owing to the good magnification range.
FalconFN
Thats true, but the video I saw from Scott Country made it look like a digital zoom rather than optical so not very good definition when zoomed in. Still, it does look like it could be good.
steve_b_wales
Yes,it is a digital zoom,so maybe not so good. Just thought it would save me swapping my day scope for a night vision one.
jimmyb79
There's a new video on YouTube of night vision capability filming a raccoon. The quality is excellent, had one on preorder for a while now and after looking at the video today, can't wait to get it!
Essex Keeper
no detail of range i really want one but isit going to be anygood Edited October 15, 2014 by m2tyj
The Mighty Prawn
I'm really excited about it, but not wanting to be the first to part with the cash as it does seem cheap for something so revolutionary? The raccoon footage is good I agree but I'd have to guess that is less than twenty feet away judging by how strong the IR beam is casting shadows and the diameter of the beam

steve_b_wales
Not too fussed to be honest. A bit like the NS200 which I once owned. A very good add on is the cobra merlin EX.
telf
but no trailing wires or screen, just pushes into the DSA
FalconFN
but no trailing wires or screen, just pushes into the DSA They are good but you have the long eye relief problem that all near-eye add on units have. If you have a dedicated night setup then digital scopes are the way to go, they can be used in daylight, although not as good as a traditional scope, but where they come into their own is in low light situations, dusk and dawn etc, and obviously at night under infrared. Here's my latest home brew digi scope: Will outperform the Photon at less than a quarter of the price too.
happyshooter
Hi Steve, one thing to remember is the X-sight is being built in China,so is being built to a price, ie components will be basic and to a price,my thoughts are its performance is photon like,i i will not be getting one until i see/read reviews on it,my pre market research days are long over. with my drone pro / n750 & ns wolf my nv needs are currently covered, atb brian
