Winston72
seems very reasonable, ive had one of these for a good few years its easy to get parts for and uber reliable, is it the 12" model?

guss109
If it's an 09 on a 12" bar it's going to be mentally fast as that is around a 90cc saw. With it being an older model it probably won't have a chain brake fitted but most parts should still be avadible

Ricko
How has it been used? Thrashed by an amateur tree surgeon or used for cutting a few logs by the local vicar's wife.
rovercoupe
Yep the 009 is a small saw that came in top handle and std setup, very good saws but the carbs are a bit of a pain to work on and a odd reed valve setup but made in the day when they would take some abuse. The only downside is the do not cut as fast as some of the more moden saws but its on the money for a good, one well used then lower the price by £30 Edited December 14, 2014 by rovercoupe
foxnet22
Had a look at saw today ,has the invoice from the service to ended up paying 80 for it .tried it and cuts well.very happy with it..

Paddy Galore!
an 090 would be 0.9 cubic inches, about 140cc my old 045 is 73cc
rovercoupe
£80 sounds like a fair deal, if you want to geek it up stihl specs are here, http://www.getsaws.com/S_specs.html

I never have a clue with stihl's when someone says a model have no idea if its a big saw or a wee one. Atleast with husky's the last 2 are approx cc's I have an abused 361 but from memory there was a 341 that is almost the same enginge size but a different carb set up? Dougy
I had an old late 60s 08S they were 56 cc, originally 48cc but increased in1969. So your power/ cc rulings may not ring true through the stihl range.
