Fuji Shooter
Anyone own and still shoot one of these. For some strange reason I feel the need to buy one if only to say I have one. Might get a rough dog and use it as a winter project,
wraivi
Oh yes! I have 3 of them. Set up the recoil system right and they are so comfy to shoot, beware if you get the friction setting wrong and they will kick like a mule. Incredible engineering and quality built, they were in production over 100 years. You have to have one....

happypig
I love mine for pigeons..... It's a FN version which I can't date as the numbers do not fit the browning lists..... Proper sound of metal as the working parts go forward Recoil not an issue... Only takes 70 mm carts though

Andy H
For your serial no it looks like it was made in1954.

happypig
Andy, where did you find this? On the browning site the 1953 numbering goes up to 43800 The 1954 numbers are different..... It makes sense for it to be a 1954 gun though.... Hp
Andy H
As the list shows they changed the serial number format in 54-55 but they did not start to use the new format until 56 ,Until then the old serial no's were used. The positive date identifier will be the proof marks where there will be a date single letter without a star above it. BrowningDJC
Ive got one, 1958 with a polychoke barrel. Also got a m/c barrel for it. These last forever if maintained, a real piece of engineering.
Fuji Shooter
Well mine arrived yesterday and I took it out for a round of skeet today, Scored 21 so quite pleased as I have not shot anything in 12 months. Great fun semi auto even cycled 21g. Mine must be before 1953 as it does not have speed load. Looking to get a synthetic stock once I can get hold of one from the USA.
