cocknee
I have had a thoroughly good season on my little shoot the birds have held well and flown pretty well apart from a couple of rainy days it has been one of the best I can remember and to top it all off I had the pleasure of JDogs company on 17th and a very nice chap he is too. I hope everyone else had a really good season and as far as I am concerned next season can't come soon enough.
JDog
And a very fine day it was too. Those who are disillusioned with game shooting because of the lack of inclusiveness should note that this was a happy day from start to finish. I have rarely met such a decent lot, all of whom sat down together for the after shoot late lunch in the pub. Good luck on your last day on Saturday. Look out for the penguin. sako751sg
Having a walk tomorrow and then possibly Sunday and looking forward to the finish to get a wee break before the bucks come in. Been a good season again but its not about numbers, more of the enjoyment and theres plenty of that. Penelope
My syndicate's last day tomorrow. Starting with a duck/goose flight at dawn, then a walk one/stand one clear up day followed by another go at the ducks and geese on the lakes. Pigeons from then on until the new poults arrive in July with a few work parties in between.

Scully
Last day of rough shoot today, for this season, and syndicate is having a walkabout also, but I have chosen to go to rough shoot. It's been a good season, with this one being the first in snow; and having shot so far 108 for 125 birds released last June. Syndicate shoot dinner tonight, which is a great social occasion for all involved, and will have rough shoot dinner sometime soon, and then back to work for next season. Loads to do and little time to do it. Great stuff. Have a good day all those out today.
KFC
We had our beater's day as the last shoot on Wednesday. We've had a really good season. We had some new covers so we weren't sure how they were going to work but they showed some brilliant birds. I got 'shot of the day' on a high Partridge in the really strong wind. Even the shoot Captain said it was a good shot which is praise indeed and I've replayed the shot many times in my minds eye. Amazing how quick the season goes. The captain's away on another syndicate today so I've got the job of thinning some Moorhens on our Duck moat. Hope everyone has a good day. Looking forward to roost shooting and drey-poking now. Grandalf
Final day for my lot yesterday. A good day was had by one and all and I even carried a shottie myself. We have had six excellent days sport and each one has been finished off by a good meal and a glass or two of something warm and cuddly. The season has been a good one. Dry summer got us off to a good start for the release and the birds have held well. Still got a good breeding stock left but rather more cocks than I would like. Shot 64% which makes me, and the new keeper (his first season ever) very happy. Now we start planning the next one...
ollie
Just finished our last day on the syndicate. We released 100 pheasants & ended up shooting 64 so a good return @ 64%. We intend building another pen this summer & releasing 200 birds next year.
