Kes
Had me worried there as I'm going on Saturday. I hope to be spending a bit more than £30 and recoup that in 'discounts'.
daystate 177
Just came back from the show some stunning guns on show and the honey whiskey was yum yum, I enjoyed it, although the amount of people dressed in full army gear!!!!!!! (Not even serving) was a little strange
Les*1066
I was there on Friday + Saturday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found the number of people - i.e parents and kids - wearing matching naff tweed outfits complete with flat caps totally hilarious. They obviously thought they looked the bees knees, whereas they looked more like the dogs breakfast. The same as the numpties in the airsoft area in full cammo complete with webbing and plastic helmets. Oh well, there's no accounting for taste, I suppose. Carman06
I'm 100% with you LES*1066 I thought the same.
Cavey
I thought the same on friday there were a lot of people in camo gear who were shopping and a huge ammount of wannabe in the airsoft hall with an odd few serving dotted about. Wasnt that many tweed suits on fri, most in casual clothing. Camo should be in a hide or hunting in the hedgerow hardly gonna b many live quarry in a hall at stoneliegh. :-)

(Not even serving) was a little strange I too tried that bruadar honey whiskey and bought two bottles on the spot! Gorgeous! Couldn't bring myself to go into the air soft area due to the numpties dressed like a tactical unit! 😑😑
Salop Matt
As much as I aree the Airsoft lot are a bad idea to have there with the shooting community I had great day despite the two lads I was going with not being able to go due to illness. I had a fantastic deal on an Aim45 rifle bag, I got a new jacket and a pair of new chokes (although I had told myself theres no need), I enjoyed an alday breakfast butty and bottle of pop and later a game pie all of which were normally priced for an event. So I walked away with an empty pocket but really enjoyed the day and happy with what I spent. I also met up with Gareth AKA Deputy Dog off here and also Davy Thomas, Charlie and Wurz from VHTV. Really enjoyed it and will be back next year. ATB Matt
malkiserow
I had a great day, bought some leather goods, caught up with some great contacts and friends ........... I also bumped into Wabbitbosher, Activiii and Hendersons The BASC stand was great and helpful chap sorted out a score which was appreciated. I had a good chat with Elderkins and was impressed with their knowledge and straightforward advice. There were NO traffic issues. The food was as expected, if you don't like event prices, just take your own is my approach. I admit to having a dream of a Blaser purchase ..... then I woke up
rjimmer
I had my one-and-only alloy cap gun taken off me the first time I pointed it at someone, about 65 years ago. How can people/kids be encouraged to do such things nowadays? For that reason I just walk past anything to do with such activities. I don't agree with the name 'Practical Shotgun', it should be called 'Combat Shotgun'. Edited February 16, 2015 by rjimmer
brett1985
oh look, another airsoft bashing thread.... lighten up guys. each to their own and all that eh? and why is it a bad idea to have the airsoft guys there with the rest of the shooting community? incase poor old sensitive joe public gets the wrong idea? pull the other one... anyone who was at the shooting show is more than likely in to shooting anyway. if not, they would probably be far more perturbed by the hundreds of REAL guns on display, not the plastic ones. and 'combat shotgun'? surely if you were to follow on from the general consensus on this thread then that name would be far too violent sounding and give people the wrong idea... Richie10
Sounds a good time. Didn't know it was a fashion show as well....
malkiserow
Sounds a good time. Didn't know it was a fashion show as well.... There was more camo than than the NATO annual bash. I don't understand it and, frankly, I don't care. I just assume they cannot afford "normal" clothes on benefits

They are certainly 'different', but you're quite right, each to their own. My biggest disappointment at the show was the 'same old story'. A great new annual show starts, all the small dealers/gun builders/shops etc attend and then when the event becomes 'established', they jack the prices up so much that the small (and interesting) guys can't afford to come. I've heard that some small stands were over £2,000 and you'll have to sell a shed load of stuff to cover that, never mind transport costs and staff wages. And not smack punters when they ask for show discounts,,,,, It is now too much like the CLA game fair with only the big shops and big dealers being able to go and the small guys, ie rifle builders, not being able to afford to come. So I doubt I will attend next year.
