I have recently received renewal application forms for my firearms/shotguns. Reading the notes about completing the forms, it states,

'In the case of an application for renewal of a shotgun certificate,the current certificate or a signed and dated copy should be included with the application'.

 

I have never had to do this before, and intend to check this out with BASC tomorrow morning.

 

Has anyone else had the same request?

They may ask for you to send in your old certificates at renewal but it is not a legal requirement. By all means send a copy but I wouldn't send your original certificates, you may need them for purchases or for producing when asked (69Chris, the receipt that you had is worthless as they can insist on seeing your actual FAC/SGC because that is the only legal document).
