robbiep
Longbower, Its fine reading stuff on paper specially looking at graphs and ballistic charts, energy retention bumph and all those numbers. BUT a thing to be aware of is the accuracy of the little 22lr round at 150, Trust me and umpteen others who have experience shooting 22lr. To hit a Fox at 150yds with a 22lr and kill may be possible, but consistently ? that will be a no so It is not or should not be taken. Agreed. A 22LR will carry lethality for a long way, but at anything over 50 yards (subs) or maybe 80 yards (HV), the slightest amount of wind will wreck a shot. I'm sure there will be people who will disagree with that, and tell you that they can take a fox out at 200 yards in a howling gale with subs ... Longbower
I'm not arguing ,I was asking , and bow graciously to your vastly superior experience, and knowledge, and shooting abilities.
walshie
.22 rimfire for fox ... really  I would like to see that on your FAC It used to be on mine "vermin including fox". Latest incarnation of my ticket is ALQ. A 22lr is more than capable at appropriate ranges. Edited May 8, 2015 by walshie

neil w
150 yards Is too far for a humane kill for a .22 rimfire. Wonder what the hold over would be.

Guest
The 22lr is a joke on a fox and as for 150 yrds you would have to point the gun at the moon. Problem sorted now but thanks for the replies. ATB YoungMan
