6 months? :|

That's actually good for Essex...

A while back it was really good service, my whole process took me less than 4 weeks from posting application to receiving cert...

However, they bumped one good old FEO out which was a shame, he was good. I believe others went too and they are now understaffed...

Apparently licences are taking 6-9 months... awful.

Cheers again guys, all those times i was beating and could of taken a place of a late gun, and hearing all the pigeon shooters at the weekends have been torture.

I live a few hundred yards from the suffolk border, in suffolk the applications are sorted in a few weeks which is annoying

Well for me, i have a 12b o/u - hilton gun company waiting for me, its what ive been using under supervision so to speak on a few pigeons, so that will be signed over to me. Next will be a baikal hushpower for squirels on my syndi. Prob a cheapo semi auto for a hide gun when one comes up cheap, then a sxs for the odd occasion on the pheasents when im feeling traditional and leave the o/u at home.

Then at some point id like a miriku mk38 ive shot well with one in the past, it seams to fit me well but thats a long way off to save and get my mount consitant

If you're going for a hushpower. I'd suggest a 20bore. I have a .410 Baikal which is ok but it's not particularly printable and takes a lot of getting used to. Also hot an investarm 20 bore o/u hush which is the nuts and I love it. Marginally quieter than the .410 too. A mate has got a pump action mossberg 12bore and its ****. You feel like terminator shooting it but the silencer starts coming off after half a dozen shots and feels loose / unsafe.

Just my opinion though get whatever suits you.

Congratulations to both new license holders :)

That`s the tiresome waiting bit over with. Now comes the expensive (but fun) buying bit. Any thoughts on what your first gun will be?

looking out for a nice s/h o/u 12g nothing expensive to start out with, there been some good bargains on here recently
