Underdog
Cracking walk with the wmr today. Missed a crow at ten yards . Got the camera with me and walked up to this lovely resting hare. Later on enjoying the heady sent of the hawthorn I noticed a honey bee so got the camera out quick. U.

The short Bess of mine came from Valley arms! U. There used to be loads of hares in the 50's & 60's but since lamping at night with lurchers took off the numbers have dimished - but each to their own. Yes, lovely country around here, I live in a small village called Henllan, which is three miles outside Denbigh - don't know if you know it. Valley Arms are a very well stocked gunshop, but I find they are a bit expensive for a pensioner like myself! I was quoted £50.00 for a RFD to RFD transfer the other day! Archie-fox
Yes sir, I like the second print :-) I was getting another picture re-framed and couldn't resist when I saw them on the wall, both signed with certificates and he did me a nice deal...you only live once as they say!! I'm ashamed to say I do take the odd hare for the slow cooker, only 2 or 3 per year but there is quite a few on one of my permissions....only take them in winter tho. Keep your pics coming UD... I use to supply a lost friend one or two a year myself. :-) Agree with both posts, great photos Underdog, we have some great Hare paintings in the living room by a friend artist called Mary Anne Rogers, well worth a look. As for Hare numbers we are overrun at the moment, I tend to thin a few out in winter but last weekend counted 13 grazing on our barley in one 25 acre field! I see lots on my areas, 15/20 per field...I'm trying to let the numbers grow but the local long dog lads have a different idea...so I mite as well take the odd one with the shotgun...can't beat one in the slow cooker on a snowy Sunday with the odd wine...nothing better.
