Hi Davyo have you changed your mind again, getting variations i thought you had lost interest and were selling all your guns...

Glad to see you are not packing up altogether .

This is the 3rd time I've replaced guns in 12 mths, but the pigeon gear has gone for good.Just sticking with the FAC,I wanted to keep the certs but was advised that if I don't ask for slots at the point of notification of sale then it won't be a 1/1 (free)in the future as those slots had gone if that makes sense.

Not bothered about the pigeon shooting as it's just to much hassle & can't be ***** with all the gear ( I can get guns in for that if required).Sold everything within a week,so before her in doors got her mits on the cash I got myself a new CZ today & going back to Gilsens poss after my holiday for a 243.

you are right about all the gear and pigeon shooting but got to admit i enjoy spending a day in the hide either after pigeons or crows..

Was over you way ( permission Deighton ) last week on one of mine we popped down into the wood and just stood around and shot 50+ crows as they came in to the nests in just 2 hours..

PS

you will not go wrong going to Simon's he's a mate and always does a good deal I've got i will not go anywhere else unless he cannot supply...

I know what you mean about the crows,we have had some cracking evenings in the roost woods,it's poss one of the best times to shoot crows & jackdaws as they don't seem to spot you as easy as they do in the field.Got really silly one night to the point where a hard hat would be a benifit lol

Apologies guys, not totally the ball this week, my only nephew was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, may never walk again, he's 27, then Monday my oldest shooting pal dies suddenly...so hands up I have not been as careful as usual looking at all the posts on PW

Yes seen it, our firearms team are aware, yet another thing this constabulary's firearms team will be taken to task over

If anyone wants to give me a drubbing ...bring it on..things cant get any worse and it will be water off a ducks back

David

David, sorry to hear about the bad news on both fronts. Look after yourself.

Regarding Durham, I posted a question on here a while ago about the requirement for a doctors report. In the end I folded like a wet rag and went and had the report done at a cost to me of £30. All the bits were sent off six months prior to the date of my current certificate expiring and I am approx 3 weeks away from expiry date now. Even after jumping through their damned hoops it still looks like I may end up with a load of hassle.

I am a little bit upset about it :unhappy:

As Durham claim non-compliance may delay an applicants application, just think how long it would have taken if you hadn't complied. :) They're full of ****.

Looks like you will be requiring a section 7,but you can not get it till the day your license expires.I tried to obtain one the day before and was told "no it can not and will not be issued till your runs out" I phoned BASC as loads of PW members where stating that Durham where wrong, but BASC confirmed that what I wad told by Durham was correct.

I actually put me guns into an RDF the day before expiry to be on the safe side.

My FAC is due in September, had the FEO out last week.

I didn't comply to the request of the doctors report, but was told by the time my FAC comes round in 5yrs it will be compulsory.

I had a good bit craic with the FEO, a down to earth type of guy, + he could see reason.

Unusual for Durham, certainly an improvement, & TBH it's what Durham has been lacking for quite a while.

The last one was a veggie, the one before that thought he was the be all & end all, what he said goes,

& the other before him caused a massive backlog, & was the wildlife liaison officer...
