Rst1990
I bought the above rifle new 2 weeks ago, I was able to get out into the field yesterday to zero it in and it's shooting really low? 2ft low at 50yards!!! I have swapped the moderators thinking it may be clipping and still low also fired without moderator, Thought it may be the scope and have used others that I know are good and still low, also used the iron sights. Gonna be taking the gun back to the store and they will send it back to supplier. Anyone got any idea of what the problem is and will they be able to fix it? I don't really want another rifle as this one seems to cycle every subsonic round I have put through it. Thanks
wymberley
Easy does it. It's new and under warranty so as it would appear that you've done all the obvious checks, you really don't want to do something that would invalidate that warranty. Back to the retailer with it. snow white
Have you shimed the scope it normally the back one just a piece of tin foil double over might do it give it a try.
wymberley
Have you shimed the scope it normally the back one just a piece of tin foil double over might do it give it a try. Why bodge a new rifle particularly when the fault is still present with the iron sights?
snow white
You're not bodgeing anything some times you have to shim the scope if the barrel was not true it would be putting holes all over the place if the crown was not right that also would do the same. Dougy
2 feet low at 50yds is too much. Try swapping the mounts round. Have you bore sighted it to start with ? Then if there's no improvement take it back.
Milo
Certainly it may well be that the cant between barrel centreline and scope is not right. However, do not discount the possibility of a bent barrel. I had one shooting off to one side and it turned out the tube was bent. If it is 2 feet low at 50 yards you should be able to see such a bend with the naked eye. Just a thought. Rst1990
It's really beyond shiming the scope, I put 1/4 bent piece of card under and it was just getting onto the target paper being 6x6 inch. I think the barrel is bent but can't see anything with the eye, even put a spirit level on it and couldn't see any bend. Not shore what it is
snow white
Did you shim one end only. if the barrel was bent it would spray every where not straight think about it

Les*1066
It could be a poor action/stock fit problem, or an incorrect barrel fit problem. Just send it back and get it sorted.
CharlieT
Have you tried different rings ? Or the barrel may not be located correctly or the block (or whatever you call it) is loose. Try refitting the barrel and see if that makes any difference.

I cannot see how you can possibly bore sight a Ruger 10-22, if you know how to, then please tell me

The barrel is held in place by a Vee block and 2 allen bolts, if for any reason they have become loose or the barrel removed at any time then the practice is when tightening the bolts put upwards pressure on the barrel. If you google barrel droop you will see whats called a GUNSMITHERS V block that will elliminate this. I had this prob when i replaced my barrel and the new vee block cured it.. Good luck.
