jam1e
Hi folks, Had a few errors on my FAC, after getting some variations on there. I've sorted the two, but I'm not sure if there's a third. and as the Firearms office isn't taking calls at the moment, I thought I'd ask what is written on other members tickets. In the ammo possession part of my ticket, it states that I can purchase ".223" ammunition. I can't recall what it said on my old ticket. Have they listed it correctly, or should it read ".22" or maybe ".224"?? My concern is that I'm aware you can purchase .223, and .224 bullets. Any constructive replies appreciated. spandit
Do you have a .223? I would have thought any RFD would sell you .22cal (.224") bullets for reloading with that listed...
Livefast123
I used to have .22 down for ammunition when I had my .223 Edited June 22, 2015 by Livefast123
malkiserow
I have an option for 223 or 222 but that is the rifle calibre not the bullets !

The Mighty Prawn
What force are you? I m guessing Warwickshire? I'm west Mercia and mine specifically states .223/5.56 there is a separate entry for .22 L/R
jam1e
Sorry for the late reply folks. Yes I have a .223 Remington. Mighty Prawn, Warwickshire and West Mercia have now merged their Firearms licensing Department. And a lot of other services. The Police vehicles even have each other badge crest of them to. So a full merger of West Mercia and Warwickshire is certainly going to happen at some point....However, I'm officially under West Mercia. I certainly have never had ".223/5.56" on my ticket though. The most sensible thing I can think of to print, is just .22 Cal. I can't fault them on the turnaround time though. It took under 2 weeks, for FAC Air, .357 Mag/.38 Special, and .308 Win. Albeit it has 2/3 mistakes to fix....

Underdog
Ammunition in 223 cal you can buy. It should also state expanding missiles of such, unless you are just target shooting. No?
fruitloop
I have an option for 223 or 222 but that is the rifle calibre not the bullets ! 223/222 is not the calibre that is the chambering the calibre refers to the diameter of the bullet so its .22" or .224" . No issues with the expanding and target missiles, it states both. Cheers UD

I know exactly what you mean but I am giving it to the op as my certificate has itjust like this. I find generics are used such as 6mm for the .243 or 7 mm but mine are not exactly that. My 7 mm is actually a 7.2 mm dia bullet diameter. .22 lr is stated as such...... for Jamie.
