silver pigeon69
actually for a non eu immigrant to get residency here it is really hard, unless you read the mirror or sun of course I think it depends on whether you go through the correct procedures or not. I have two Egyptian friends who have English wifes and two and three kids with them. They have been married for 5 and 8 years and have lived in Egypt most of them. A few years ago, with the trouble and resulting drop in tourism in Egypt(no work!) they decided, for the good of the children, to move to the UK. They decided to go through the correct procedures and are still fighting to stay. They are only allowed to stay for a few months at a time and have to leave their wife and children when they leave. They are no closer to getting permission to stay.
bruno22rf
I must admit to feeling sorry for the people that these women deserted and who's lives are now in tatters-Husbands, Sisters and Brothers and countless other family members and relatives-cant we send them to Syria as well?- on purely humanitarian grounds of course . Harnser
Get a grip man, their culture prevents them breathing without the say so of the man who herds them they knew alright. KW Perhaps that's why they went . Harnser
lord_seagrave
The children have no say in the matter sadly. This. There is only so much our government can do to police the spending of child (and other) benefits. LS
Vince Green
so where is Somalia Eritrea sudan etc? how come nearly 1.2% of our population were born there then? KW The size of the Bangladeshi community in East London is absolutely huge Even as a person who thought he knew about such things I was shocked. Very few of them are able to work because their culture does not really allow a man to work for someone else. To do so would make him a servant and lower his social status within the community. They can work for the Government, NHS etc but few of them are employable from a skills point of view. The thing I really think is worrying is that nothing is being done to integrate the community. The kids are just like the parents, nothing is moving forward., I would bet the authorities haven't got much of a clue who they are paying benefits to in reality, or who is living in all those thousands of high rise flats, who has gone back to Bangladesh 'to visit family' or who never really existed in the first place. There is no control as far as I can see Edited June 23, 2015 by Vince Green

Ronnie B
The government cuts should start with all these people out of the country having All there benefits stopped with no exceptions. Start looking after and treating the people of our own country with the respect they deserve and raise the benefits to those that deserve them, forget benefit street crew. Pack the lot of scroungers in a boat with a hole in it and get rid of the lot of them in one go PS rant over, I need a big ship These are only my thoughts R
norfolk dumpling
Latest news on the 12 was a police officer may have inadvertently encouraged them to go abroad. Apparently a letter was issued by the police to them effectively saying they were free to travel and there were no travel restrictions placed on them. Give the boy (or girl) a medal but still stop their benefits!
