TIGHTCHOKE
I am sat at work and my Mate and I are whipping through the Daily Mail crossword. One of the clues is "Scottish market town" and the answer is Elgin. My Mate has just told me that years ago he visited the town and enquired at the tourist information office about the location of their famous marbles! Cracking way to make the day go quicker! kernel gadaffi
I'd be looking across the room at a certain person, questioning the whereabouts of their marbles.

Vince Green
I've been to Elgin, lovely place for a holiday visit but you wouldn't want to live there. Bleak and cold up there on that coast, and thats in the summer! I doubt they would even understand the joke about the marbles. Its Time Team country up there, its dotted with old Viking settlements which because its so remote remain virtually undisturbed by later developments or agriculture. What I could never understand is how some bunch of Vikings could land on that coast, look around and think "Mmmm this is nice, think we will stay here" Edited July 3, 2015 by Vince Green
