just got back from our visit to Austria and all I can say is. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved the place to bits.

Hotel ***** luxury,-USED TO BE A HUNTING LODGE - Deer heads everywhere.

whirlpools, spas, jacuzzi, ice rooms ;and well I never,

a FULL 50 meter rifle range built under ground and the SLACKEST of security measures I have ever witnessed.

I asked about the shooting at reception and she said " no problem Sir", turned round and opened a drawer from behind her with about 10,000 shells in and then took me down to the shooting range.

3 electronic target stands and 3 Anschutz .22 rimfire rifles in a wooden box on the wall.

UNLOCKED - I tell you.

had a couple of 50 shot rounds, but MEGA expensive.

20 Euros a box of 50. OUCH!!!!!!!

Then the following day myself and the missus went to the top of Zwolfhorn Mountain, 4,500+meters asl.

Fantastic.

Got BURNT sunbathing in the snow and watched a load of mental para-gliders going off the top.

Shame we had to come back so soon.

DEFINITELY going back.

Recommend it to anybody.

We took the kids there a couple of years back. Spent a fantastic week in Mayerhofen. Clean and tidy streets, everyone very polite, great local beer - Zillertaller, and of course more schnapps than you can shake both of those blurry sticks at!!! What really got us though was walking around at 11 at night you felt perfectly save, there were no chavs hanging around on the street corners anywhere.

Where about did you go dave. Went out there about 10 years ago, hope to back in a few years because i have alot of family over there.

Never saw any snow when i went there though

We stayed at a place about 15 miles outside salzburg called Hof bei salzburg overlooking Lake Fuschl.

The scenery all around was superb and right near a main route(A1/A10) for easy access to everywhere.

I have just spent most of this weekend downloading all of our pictures. 487 of them.

I have never used more than 2gb on holiday before in a week, and we used 4gb in the first 1 1/2 days.

Had to download onto my flash card (glad I took it).

Will put some scenic shots on pics/vids later on.
