Funnily enough, certain people on here who have gone on & on about how immigrants should abide by our rules & traditions don't seem to think the same philosophy should apply to themselves on this forum. Actually, I can see your point, I did manage to sound like I was a retired major living in Surrey. Don't get me wrong, I'm no prude, I've worked in rig drilling crews all over the world and have seen and heard more than most and can enjoy a good filthy joke like you can - but this is a shooting forum that anyone, their wife or children can go to. Honestly - would you really let rip with your finest industrial language & best blind muslim lesbian joke at any time you felt like it, no matter who you were talking to? Help - maybe I am turning into a retired major living in Surrey. Sorry, I just like the forum & have learned from it & have been entertained by it and feel it's a shame to tear it apart just because the moderators have taken offense to some comments & jokes. Perhaps a restricted access section could be added to the site for the more the more heavy duty jokes & comments if you really feel that you need to post them here. I just don't really understand why they need to be posted in the first place - It's only a shooting forum you know, you really aren't bringing down a facist regime. As far as you are concerned, you are doing no harm - a bit like the dog walkers who are driving ferret boy crazy - perhaps they have no idea of harm & aggravation they are causing or perhaps they just don't care. Or perhaps the lads who wrecked sanders 98's peas - were they just having a laugh? Hah rules are for other people - I'm free, I'll do what I want. Have a look around on the web. So many forums that aren't properly moderated become nothing more than slanging matches with vile abuse being fired out by people made brave by the anonymity of the internet. Do you want that to happen here? You might say that if I'm offended, that I don't need to look - but why should I have to sift throught acres of abuse and slanging just to be able to be able to find something I might want to read. flash Posted April 14, 2007 Report Share Posted April 14, 2007 i am not against some adult jokes as i would not consider some of the sporting pictures suitable for youngsters/hairdessers etc ie this is not a forum for children etc but also as in day to day life there is no need for swearing just because you can, personally i like typing it out and adding a few *****y stars etc because you are sort of swearing without swearing if you see what i mean.also i find it hard to understand why some of us complain about the moderators in such an aggressive and non constructive way i would not like to be one especially for little or no reward, **** that! plinker i would imagine that i would fall into the category of a child in all ur eyes, i dont see why its not a forum for children, yet your always talking about getting them into the sport, and as kids use the internet alot these days, this seems as good a place as any to show them what happens, alot of them may not be able to go out shooting, may not have the connections etc. ive been using this forum since i was 15 i think, and before 10 i was shooting vermin, and fishing, and at that age and younger, it was always the gutting of fish etc, that interested me the most. dunno why, maybe i was a strange child . i just dont think the forum should go the way of the rest of the country. but i agree that some take it to the extreme with some of the stuff that gets posted on here. and i dont see why they complain about getting deleted. cheers flash Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
