Single barrel and the little dog.

First off thanks to every one and their kind offers of single barrels for sale.

I borrowed one in the end to try, a Baikal. Well with the foul forecast I donned the long wax coat I bought via PW recently grabbed the single and tied the timid little dog to my game bag.

It was good fun, four squirrels, missed a crow :unhappy: and a pheasant. No picture of the pheasant, it came down in a muddy ditch .

Oh and a magpie!

Jess is very timid with little confidence, does not like guns! How ever she is becoming more trustful of me and getting a taste for rabbit, so maybe soon she will tag along without being on a lead.

She gives mouth if a stranger is about home and that is good. She gets on with old Tia and yesterday one of them killed a rat on the back garden!

My first shotgun was a single barrel Baikal. Used with Record #4 cartridges, it did give a 'bit' of recoil.

They do Steve, they are so light.

I was contemplating the use of 21g loads if it was to be used for decoyed birds should alot come in as I guess the shoulder after an intense session would know about it!

Hi u glad you had some fun, my first ever shotgun was the same as the one in your picture...... Unfortunately I gave it away earlier on this year, had it since I was twelve! Used to kick me like a mule but I could dust clays with it and it accounted for many crows and magpies......
