12G deprimer tooling required

Recommended Posts

i have a lot of 12gauge shells to de primer over christmas with some friends

to help it along we want to have made this item from wood

the idea is that it fits inside a manual drill press and as such we can have someone else knocking out the primers and case sorting whilst the others do the other loadings and depriming with the other presses

the sizes might change slightly but that will be discussed with someone

so if your here and you own or can get your hands on a wood lathe can you make this and how much to do so

the primer pin is going to be a small drill bit in reverse so the end will require a small hole drilling into it when your turning it. wood wise i want it to be reasonable hard so i was thinking maple as i have that or beech as i have that as well if you want me to supply the wood

for those that can , it can also be turned in solid plastics if you have that avalible the same with solid metals

I use the deprimer on my mec before that I made a simple jig for drill press all it was a piece of wood screwed to the bed on the drill then drilled a hole about 10 mill deep so the cart brass was a nice fit not to tightly then changed drill bit to a 6 mill all the way through put a plastic pot under the bed to catch the primers if you don't move the wood it will be central no need to make fancy tools it gets very boring thou simple but works a treat never had one go off yet
