goosekid
My father is an avid wildfowler and has requested a pocket GPS (to go with his trusty compass) when he is navigating out on the marsh. I was hoping you guys could recommend something for him. Thanks
islandgun
I used a garmin (etrex ? ) hand held GPS daily for several years when i was mink trapping to find traps, never a problem, under £

Konnie
As islandgun, just in case item, and can input a path or destination from grid numbers of google earth, which is handy for new places.
hoggysreels
Tell him to keep hold of his compass as well as a handheld gps. Never rely totally on a handheld battery operated device. Handheld gps device chew the batteries like no tomorrow. Ive one here l occasionally use. The choice is between a Garmin and Magellan .. both are okay. That said l'd sooner trust my Plastimo Iris 50 any day of the week.
