Keith RW
Afternoon All Could anyone let me know the correct terminology for the spring and catch that hold the top lever (release lever) in place when opening the gun.please see attached photos. The spring below the lever/catch on my 1973 Browning Liege has just broken on me and I suspect the tail ends of the springs are still in place where ever they might reside as I cannot see without completely stripping it down, not sure at this stage if a stripdown is necessary for fitting of a replacement and again thats if I can manage to track one down, I cannot find any info on line and have been informed that the Leige was one of the last made in Belgium prior to them going out to Japan. A schematic would be handy to see what the original spring looks like if anyone may just have one, and as usual any help and advice always appreciated. Blackbart
Doesnt look a lot to it, could you not fashion one out of something else ? gunsmiths seem to charge more than plastic surgeons these days

Keith RW
Cheers Guys, I always (well 99% of the time) tend to perform my own repairs which if I can obtain a replacement spring will do so again and as usual, only problem I have is finding where the tail ends of the spring plug into the action which I can't see at present, hoping to get a new spring to give me an idea of what original looks like and where it locates before I start stripping down unnecessarily. If I cannot get an original then will look into alternative solutions,
Keith RW
Just found a parts list, part needed is the "Lock open latch spring" that looks like it locates in the bottom plate....off to play and see if other pieces of the spring are in there. if anyone requires a copy of the list drop me a line, could do with finding somewhere online to post it for other folk's use and reference, any ideas chaps.
