I daresay there is also a concerted effort to overload the system and stress it to the point of failure.

All airgun owners in Scotland should take note and be empowered. Although I have no desire to see an undesirable take possession of a weapon due to a contrived failure in the system, it is unacceptable for our political leaders to put in place ineffective and unworkable policy. That is what is being observed in the US in the article posted by DM.

This is exactly how I hope Scottish air gunners will react when the licensing proposals begin. If I lived in Scotland I would apply for a S1 airgun whether I felt the need or not, simply in the hope of overloading the system.

I've done exactly that,I put in for the variation at the end of august had a home visit(yeah I know) a few weeks later. Heard absolutely nothing so emailed them start of January still nothing so phoned them last week 'oh it's still out at division' what that means i don't know likely lost in the system and was told they'd chase it up. All gun owners in the uk should apply for a Scottish air gun licence ,just in case you need it . How stupid can it get . I can use my .308 ,.22 rimfire and .17 rimfire in Scotland but need a separate licence for an air gun .
