Passionforangling
My Labrador is now coming up to 15 months old. He was fed Skinners Field and Trial Puppy up to 6 months and has been on Skinners Field and Trial Junior since that. I have no issues with the food, he seems healthy and his stools are nice and solid. It says on the Junior bag that it can be fed from 6- 18 months but I just wondered if anyone else has used the Skinners foods and at what age you actually took them off the Junior and onto one of the adult foods in their range. I'm sure he won't come to any harm if I patiently wait for 18 months and gradually introduce adult but wondered if anyone with greater knowledge than me could give any reason why he should/ shouldn't start to make the change now. And, there does seem to be a wide variety in the Skinners adult range, any recommendations?
bigbird
I do, mine are all on Skinners Working 23 from about nine/ten months. Suits them just fine
fenboy
There really is no need for them to go on a " Junior" at all , that's just marketing hype to get you to part with more cash. At 15 months it would have long been on adult if it were in my care !
JDog
Are you still bottle feeding the poor little devil?
WGD
Stick him on W23 when you can't pick his **** up in a plastic bag without it squashing between your fingers, that's when you know teh food for a younger dog is too rich for him. rjimmer
Mine used to have Skinners Protein 23 in front of them all the time, it was the only thing that kept weight on them, beating 3-5 days a week. Sounds like it's called something different nowadays perhaps.

labstaff
Mine are fed on field and trial working 23. I found it suited all my dogs from about 10 months old. I don't know where others get theirs from but I have a regular order from Amazon and it costs about £16.20 a bag (15kg) delivered. I find its the cheapest place. Fal
That's a good price for Skinners, I found it to be excellent food!! Little pricey though for all the dogs, I have swapped over to Chapel Farm, so far so good, two 15k sacks delivered to my door for £32! They've been on it now for two weeks and haven't lost any condition, they love eating it, and their stools are still nice and firm, going to stick with it!!! bigbird
Ooooh I must change my supplier I noticed that you pay £14.44/bag if 5 or more bags a month, I currently pay £16/bag delivered for a pallet of 30! Thanks for the heads up!
