Feltwad
Have any members had any information that UK couriers are now not allowed to carry any weapons which includes all firearms plus antiques, deactivations and air rifles ? vapours
Yes I was told "There are presently no couriers who can carry s1 or s5" The implication was that the couriers have given up carrying firearms rather than any legal driver. Also told the main agents were now using in-house delivery services.

telf
just spoke to my arfd about sending a moderator down the country, three weeks ago it would have been £20,now £40,apparently tnt and other couriers have put their prices up substantionally to the point where their charging £50 for one box of bullets, all hell on in the shooting industry according to my man, apparently GMK are using their own transport with others thinking about going the same way
saddler
Royal Mail still allow posting of S1 & S2 items. (But NOT to individuals....recipient must be an RFD) ETA: Not legal to send ammunition or primers through the post. al4x
Most have been going the same way we get loads of enquiries about antique and deactivated ones and move plenty on our own van. Tnt is probably getting things ready for when FedEx complete buying them, FedEx won't carry any over here yet will in the states

al4x
Not at all, no company wants the agro that goes with moving firearms or components. Antique and deact are almost worse as carriers are responsible for what gets declared and people do declare wrongly. They can loose other parcels and pay out but the **** flies if you loose guns
David BASC
BASC trade members can use Parcel Force for sec 1, 2 and off ticket airguns at special member rates - details of trade benefits here: http://basc.org.uk/basc-trade/trade-member-benefits/ We have also secured the services of another courier who will ship Sec5 as well as ammo, all trade members were written to about this last month
al4x
Hi David, out of interest will any of them ship antique / deactivated guns and potentially overseas?
saddler
Royal Mail WILL ship "Guns for sporting use" & de-act's https://business.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/898 "Guns for sporting use" will of course have to be sent to an RFD, as I stated above earlier De-acts can be sent to an addressee directly, as can 2nd-hand airguns (those not held on FAC) & antique guns, non-restricted parts & accessories, etc.
ElvisThePelvis
I heard this but I thought it was some bs excuse not to return my air rifle under warranty, bought 2.10.15, returned 10.1.16, still not back due to 'couriers' might ask for money back
