islandgun
Ive always had terriers none of them seemed massively bright and Iv'e always assumed their intelligence were typical for dogs, however having aquired a springer pup last year (he is now 8 months) my view has changed, he seems very quick to learn and biddable, his latest trick is let himself out of the door (front or back) by hooking his paw over the handle and leaning back, this abiiity has endeared him to the up until now apparently dim patterdale as he now sits waiting to be released by the pup, anyone else got clever pets ? oowee
made me smile and Houdini makes a great name for a dog too.
bigbird
Our Staffy does that too, drives me nuts! When I get around to it I'm going to turn the door handle upside down, hopefully that'll foil her attempts!
loriusgarrulus
Our Setter does that too. I have to lock the kitchen door or we get a howling gale coming into the house.

malkiserow
I've a few pets and most of them retrieve modest requests if I bribe them with chocolate or a an extra 10 minutes of CBeebies.
12gauge82
I went through several different baby gates with a German Shepard years ago, the way he learnt to open the different mechanisms by watching me opening them was as amazing as it was annoying.
