Bear68 Posted July 4, 2016 Report Share Posted July 4, 2016 I'm hoping to do some coastal wildfowling this season, but don't want to expose my game gun (Browning 525) to mud, saltwater etc. I have been thinking about either an AYA no.3 magnum or a Laurona magnum if I can find one. I know there are plenty of semi-auto's and pump actions that would do the job well, but I usually need about 3/8ths inch cast put on my guns, and I'm not sure if that could be done? But your going to be hunting about looking for a nice one diesel time frustration, You could drop mon its possible, but myself if i were in your boots, i would buy a brand new in a box guaranteed easy to get parts for known quantity. Hatsan Escort extreme. they are brand new guns rem chokes extended type good for steel, And all for under 300 quid, a decent Laurona is going to be at least 2 thirds this price and if its a multi choke one it could well be more money depending on condition, and will still be used. The early mk 1s were a bit hit and miss on quality control, but the mark 2s were much better, and the new ones are better still. Internal finnish is better trigger group assembley is good and for the money the overall package is good. I know of two 3.5 inch extremes in their third year no problems so far, the first 3.5 inch were prone to issues, but the 3 inch and 20 bores were never that bad. I can not argue with that Mosbergs are good, shame the parts are hard to get, thank heaven for brownels, york guns were worse than useles at backing up parts, i would have had a 935 if i could have got bits. Yep that will do the job . Got mine a few months ago not used it on the foreshore yet but i think must be one of the most used pump's for wildfowling .
