peejay
Does anyone know of a cheaper car insurance company for a discovery? my renewal is 450, i have looked on the go compare sites, and the price is about right.. ive no points, have a clean licence and never claimed.if i had to claim then by the time i paid my premium and the exess, then thats more than my discovery is worth.. four-wheel-drive
One tip I like to use is if you can afford to pay it in one go not on dd as they love dds that renew every year and the bill just goes up and up but if you are paying every year it is much simpler to barter or just change companies. also some insurance companies do not use comparison sights surprisingly I found that Direct Line was not to bad at all I am now with LVE and my X-Trail with recovery is £240 Edited November 21, 2016 by four-wheel-drive

Why can you not just stop the DD at the end of your payments and change company?
ph5172
I called NFU a while back, they came up with a quote that was more than i was looking at, they couldn't beat it but in all fairness she ran through the cover of the cheaper quote to check it wasn't a duff policy and was the same level of cover as they were offering. Her advice was to go for the other policy and try them again next year. You cant say fairer than that.
chesterse
I've found Liverpool Victoria to be very good on price and service. My disco insurance and more recently a freelander has been about £260 fully comp. Also if you have a claim they handle the whole thing rather than sub contract out to half a dozen other companies which you finish up having to coordinate.
