steve_b_wales
Are there any Philatelists on here? I have some stamps which are 'rare' so I've been informed. I'd like advice on where to get them valued etc. Thanks

steve_b_wales
Try Stanley gibbons in the strand They've been mentioned before, and I may have to take a trip up to London. I'm hoping I can find someone a bit more nearer to S.Wales first though.

Vince Green
Try Stanley gibbons in the strand +1 Right opposite the Savoy. Get a £20 cheap return from Cardiff to Paddington and I will meet you.

nobbyathome
Stanley gibbons is the most famous Steve but don't put to much hope on good value on stamps when I was young everyone collected them nowadays it's a dying hobby and all the stamps I collected are worth peanuts now you will always get the odd couple of valuable ones but I was well disappointed just got to look on ebay and see how cheap they go for nowadays

The stamps he sells now go to investors not collectors but I take your point, its a shrinking market.

Some of the stamps are sets, eg, 1944 Falkland Islands, unfranked. I also have a few that have 'error's on them, which are supposed to make them worth more. I'll arrange to visit London later this year and see what's what. Thanks to all for the advice.
