rab61t
Hello PW I have a small problem with someone stealing fencing timbers from the allotment/garden I have just been allocated. I was wondering if any one has any info on how good these Trail camera are. Is their a beam that they THE THIEF could / would see in the dark and if any one has other ideas I could take on board. Cheers Shaun
rab61t
Spoke to chap who runs gardens. He is happy for me to set up the camera. They have an idea who it is but can not move without evidence. Thanks heads up Shaun
Dave-G
The glow from an IR LED diode can be seen in darkness, as witnessed by animals spotting - and sometimes further investigating them with a bit of a sniff n lick.
Walker570
Yep , have a look at what cameras are available and choose a black version where no light is omitted. Suggest you set it at about shoulder height and see if you can hide it somehow without obstructing the view. I suggest you set it on video and that way you don't get any blurred images. May eat more batteries that way but not a problem in your circumstances. I would not advertise it is there amongst the allotment community either ... but I'm just a suspicious old coot. rab61t
Thank you all for the input. I understand you can buy these with Black led so that they can't be seen by the THIEF. I look forward to any more replys. Thank you Shaun

UKPoacher
Before you set the camera up get some UV paint or marking ink and use it to mark the timbers. Then if you record laddo and someone recognises him the final part of the jigsaw the police will want is the identifiable property found in his garden. Game, set and match! rab61t
Thanks remi / ukp / and I will have a look at the site btg. Did a little research and found one that sends pics to your phone if you put a payg sim card in. Thank you ALL for your help and advice. I will update if I get lucky and get the THIEF on camera. Thank you once again. Shaun
