Looks like a great find, nice original condition Auto-5!

I like that style of stock and it looks like the woodwork is in fine order, I would check that the friction rings are all in place and in good nick and the recoil spring. If it was me I would order new ones from Brownells just to be sure, and when it setup properly it should have no bother shooting 28 gram loads. You should also check the chamber size some Auto-5's have odd chamber sizes (2 9/16" I think) so check it before you shoot it.

If you need any help drop me a PM, I have 3 of these beasts and also a large stock of spares also have a PDF of the manual somewhere.

Load of info though on the net and the browning owners site has a wealth of info!

Nice

Have a weakness for the A5, and a few in residence...

What year is it?

Got the quickload feature?

Barrel length?

I've tried looking at the Browning website but the numbers don't match with theirs so emailed Browning to see if they can help.

Yes it's got the quick load so I know it's a real browning not a Remington, it's made by FN.

Not measured the barrel or stock length yet but the stock is short

The Browning data online is for the US made guns.

The FN system is different. Normally the first two digits are the year...but not always. And sometimes the two digits for the year are smaller, but again, not always!

Short stock?

Nah, it's a junker version.

Send it to me for disposal... ;)

Nah, it's a junker version.

Send it to me for disposal... ;) Sorry to disappoint you

Try this website for the serial number - my A5s serial number is not listed on the Browning site but it is on here -
