ShootingEgg
I have an A-tec mod on my mossberg 17. Was out last night and it sounded like id taken the mod off. Im not that impressed with it of im honest. Compared to my mates 17 last night the A-tec was poor for moderating the sound. Does anyone else use one on a 17?? What are your thoughts. Cheers

Rewulf
You sometimes think its not doing a good job, try taking it off ,and see the difference. I have an Atec on my .22lr semi auto, with CCI standards or subs, all you can hear is the bolt moving.

My SAK on my 22 is brilliant, its just the bolt click. I know that the 17 is a loud round but when i put the SAK on it a while back for an idea on sound it was better. Listened to the chap in shop who said atec was way to go, when maybe it wasnt.

Is it a 'thin' mod ? I had a parker hale on my hmr that was pretty thin, and rubbish! Its got a great big can on it now, and is unbelievably quieter. Will be interesting to see how it performs...

Hart stalker
I have Atec and DPT mods for centre fire and have tried them on my 17 but not really impressed. They both work well on my centrefire rifles. When I bought the 17 I was advised to by a SAK mod for it which I did again not really impressed. Got a Hogan air rifle mod and it is a lot better, the mod says it is rated for both .22 and 17 . The answer might be a 17 calibre specific moderator

Rst1990
I bought an a-tec for my 22lr and like you the rfd said how good it was, short story its carp compared to the sak. Tried the a tech on hmr and again it was carp, got a wild cat whisper for it and happy with it.
