Posted May 26, 2017 Report Share Posted May 26, 2017 Just checked mine and the last three numbers of the rifle serial number are stamped on a flat machined on the bolt handle.( near the safety) my .22 and 17 hmr have different numbers that correspond to the rifle it is from. activeviii Posted May 27, 2017 Report Share Posted May 27, 2017 one is longer thn the other. try them in the chamber, if bolt goes down then its right. i engraved mine on the flat under the bolt handle.1 hour drive to shoot rabbits for a farmer. should have checked before i left home. went to put the bolt in and had a 2 hour round trip to get the right bolt and get back to the farmer. lesson learnt. out with the dremel and engraved. then i made it a lot easier and got rid of hmr hehe. SPARKIE Posted May 29, 2017 Report Share Posted May 29, 2017 (edited) sounds like the gunshop has mixed the bolts when they store them....usually out of the gun. take it back to the shop as that's not the bolt made for that gun. someone probably has your bolt. Posted May 29, 2017 Report Share Posted May 29, 2017 I have CZ's in both size's 17 and 22 but in different length's, 17 is 16", 22 is 14"' so have two bolt pouch's that take bolt and mag's for relevant rifle and both are marked with the relevant caliber.
