redial
Thinking of buying a 410 or perhaps a 28 for the early season. Any advice appreciated. Edited July 9, 2017 by redial

fortune
get a 12 and have done with it. shoot light loads if you want. cheaper cartridges than 410 or 28. And you are more likely to hit the target because youve got a lot more lead in the air with better pattern.
Whitebridges
I picked up a Berretta 687s 28 bore, Multichoke, 30 ins barrel. Use Bornaghi cartridges and have dropped some cracking birds with it.
Wingman
The little Yildiz .410 OU's are cracking guns. My son uses one and its great, built on a proper .410 action and multichoke ejector.. Worth a look

What bornaghis do you use and where in Norfolk do get them from as I want to rest a few to see what patterns best in my little
Walker570
The little Yildiz .410 OU's are cracking guns. My son uses one and its great, built on a proper .410 action and multichoke ejector.. Worth a look I have shot the Yildiz O/U 30 inch barrelled shotgun now for two full seasons and it has not missed a beat BUT I have a friend who purchased the self same model and has had two now which have been badly made/finished, double discharge and latent discharge and double ejection. I had a 28 inch barrel model before and it worked perfectly. All the rubbish about the 410 not being able to do the job is because the detractors can't shoot for piffle anyway. My score in the last two seasons has been 2.4 -1. There is silly talk about 410s pricking birds ... so 12 bores don't then ?? I seem to see a lot of pheasants fly over neighbouring guns after two barrels and of course they think or believe they missed clean...or did they. Put it in the middle of the pattern at sensible range ..40yrds max and that is a very good bird .. and the 410 will do the job if you do. IMPORTANT. If you buy a 410 then pattern the gun and choose the choke which gives you the best most concentrated pattern. I have shot the Bornhagi shells and yes they are good and also the Rcs, but no better than the #8 Fiocchis I use which are a little bit cheaper as well. Patterning your shotgun to the cartridge is very important. THEN, it is up to you. Richard Grey, Affordable Days has some dedicated 410 driven days arranged up in Lincolnshire and at reasonable prices.

I bought 500 from Just Cartridges when I was on my way to Devon. I called in and picked them up. I've just noticed JC do not appear to sell Bornaghi any more. I don't know of a local supplier in Norfolk, sorry.
Tedly47
Hi please see my post 410ing in the pic's section, it's a yildiz multi .410 and I use gamebore 16g 6's with 1/4 and full chokes, it's got selective barrels so I can change if somethings a bit further out.. I own 4 .410's and looking to add a few more as I'd like a Remington semi and a o/u and let's face facts whatever else takes my fancy!!!! I've not shot driven game with one but I would happily do so as with a little practice I've dropped pigeons and covids out to 40 odd yards stone dead and shot ducks and pheasant while rough shooting. Hope this helps, Tedly Edited July 10, 2017 by Tedly47
