Scope comparison

Out of a choice of these two scopes (no others) what would you prefer.

Hawke Endurance 30 (30mm) 3-12x56 LR (ten year warranty)

Bushnell Trophy XLT 3-12x56 (30mm) IR

Both these scopes are roughly within the same price bracket (under £300)

I've used both of these scopes in the past, and both are excellent to use in low light.

Suggestions only on these two scopes please.

Is the hawke one the one with the distance markings on the rectical? I like them, if I didn't have a photon on my LR it'd be that purely for the drop markings.

The one I'm looking at doesn't have the distance markings, but I not bothered by that. It has an illuminated centre dot. I'm tempted to go for the Hawke, as it has a transferrable 10 year warranty. I had one a few years back, and it developed a fault. I sent it back to Utting's and had a brand new one sent back to replace it. That was after owning it for 3.5 years.

I have one which sits on a 375JDJ which will loosen your teeth if you don't hold it properly  others have been on.. from a TX200 through 17s, 22s, 25s, 7mms 300s and 8mms. Only had the one slight problem where I could see the reticule jump slightly when adjusting ..sent it to Deben and found I had actually owned it for a fair few years and they said they would replace it with a substantial discount on a new model. Brilliant service.
