bruno22rf
Maybe they are thinking of making a mini series where Ryan could be portrayed as a gullible simpleton who was seduced into feelings of power by nasty, nasty Guns - they could even make everybody pro Guns in the series wear black hats. grrclark
What is the issue with the BBC running a story on the 30th anniversary of what was and still is a hugely traumatic story for so many people?
Zapp
As above, it's the 30th anniversary so it would be more surprising I'd they didn't run a piece.
panoma1
Ex PC Wainright quote "you should see what guns did to Hungerford"....wrong!......you should see what Ryan did to Hungerford, demonising guns again! Perhaps the law should consider banning all White Vans as they seem to be the weapon of choice by those who are intent on mass murder? saddler
Only speed read it. They DID mention that the M1 carbine was off-ticket, so even without the AK & Beretta the tragedy would still have happened. The original plan I am told was to firebomb the town but his morher stopped that.
JDog
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/hungerford_massacre And your view on this matter is?
rbrowning2
Makes sad reading for two reasons, it was a barbaric and tragic event that had life changing consequence for a lot of people directly effected, but it was also used to restrict gun ownership on other law abiding gun owners. I guess the bbc felt the need to mark the anniversary been unable to find it on other news sites.

When will people realise that the BBC is run by management so left leaning in their political and personal opinions that they might fall over? Hungerford was a tragedy at the time and it has impacted greatly not only on those directly affected but on others such as those holding perfectly legal guns and indulging in perfectly legal gun related activities.
