Medic1281
Schmidt and Bender 8x56. +1, simple with large objective lens. Lots of light getting in and nothing to mess with to put you off.
the enigma
if solely for foxing at that range, 8x56 about be a good choice.
Red-dot
Used Swaro 8X50 or 8X56. £500 buys a minter and you will get your money back.
Archie-fox
I started with a 8x56 Schmidt but as I shoot a few farms I needed a little extra mag for longer shots..so went 3-9x56 Just a personal preference tho... but you wont go far wrong with a 8x56 Schmidt and if you look after it you will not loose and value if you decide to sell it on.. bicykillgaz
You can pick up a decent condition S&B 8x56 secondhand for £300+ on here or stalking directory if you don't mind a few tube marks I'd do that and spend the rest on ammo. I've recently put a Docter 3-12x56 on my .22lr and it's superb, there as good as any other high brand but seem to come up at reasonable prices second hand.
