30-6
Has anyone tried gravy granules as a fox bait ? I was thinking of doing it, and next time I go over my friends farm, I will try the sheepdog like an airport sniffer dog.

Vince Green
Jam sandwiches, and I am not kidding at all! It works well for urban foxes and it doesn't attract all the other carrion eaters
30-6
Boarder Like you I like trying new things. Haven't had a chance to try the sheepdog test yet. I was just thinking of something easy to get your hands on and it must smell " meaty ".
boarder
I read a recipe for fermenting horse hoof. We have a livery stables so getting hold of it wouldn't be a bother.

Longbower
Gravy granules a little water and marmite mixed and shaken in a jar. Trail it into your kill area where you empty a sachet of cat food (smelly fish 21p @Aldi). My Late Uncles recipe , costs next to nowt and its never failed me yet. Obviously there must be foxes within scent range. Just dont shoot the local moggies.

It was originally used for attracting Bobcats in Canada. Boil the clippings in clean water and put the liquid in a plastic container, together with a few of the clippings. The longer it's left, the better. Be careful not to spill in on your hands/clothes, as it stinks like hell.
