Topgun113
Evening all, recently bought a atn night site for my 17hmr, I had to buy a piccatiny Raul for it to mount on but can’t seem to get a very good grouping, anyone else experienced this, is this because there’s a bit of movement? Can’t quite work it out. any help would be appreciated cheers

bornfree
What rifle?
Dougy
No change in ammo ? If not then why should it not shoot the same. I've done the same on both of my Foxing rigs and both shoot as well as before fixing the rails, so I would check that for sure. Did the NV sight shoot well prior to you fitting it, are they prone to zero shift

JRDS
ATN he says in his first post but also says there is bit of movement which answers his own question as to why it won't group.
Topgun113
I’ve got the atn day/night scope 5x20! And I’m not sure if there’s any movement, was just asking if anyone’s experienced the same with a picatinny rail cause this is a heavy scope cheers
JRDS
Torque the rail down tight and make sure the scope is fitted correctly and pushed forward in the slots. Zero with bags front and rear or as short a bipod as you can up front and a rear bag. You know what HMR's are like, they need to settle down after a clean have you cleaned it recently and not shot it much since?

Tomo-1
Just a thought....has your rifle got a bipod with free floating barrel and synthetic stock? The extra weight may be flexing everything causing unexpected results. If it's a wooden stock it should be fine. I would strip everything off back to basics then pop it on sand bags or stand and zero. Make a note of the results, then pop NV back on and try again. Good luck.
