Twymyn
I am in the process of buying a 3 1/2” ou gun to replace my Benelli s/a which is falling apart. I,m tryng to work out how to fit a sling. I can put a stud in the stock but its how to attach it to barrels without covering the rib is the problem. A friend has a 10 bore ou which has a leather covered metal clip which fits onto the barrels from below but I can,t find anything like it. Anyone know of a solution please? motty
The best solution is a gun slip.

Unless you are totally competent, this is probably a job best left to a gunsmith. There are slings on the market that have a large loop that slips over the barrels and attaches via a QR loop at the rear, however these need removing before use because it surrounds the barrels & top rib. I go along with motty, a slip protects the gun and solves the carriage problem. Edited November 5, 2018 by JJsDad
Twymyn
Thank you for the replies. Drilling holes in the rib is too scary and perhaps I will have no choice but to use a slip although when I get the gun I may experiment with some cable ties through the ventilated rib
Pigeon Shredder.
A 2p cable tie on an £xxx gun is looking disaster in the face IMO, have a proper job done of attaching it, or it's going to be tears at bedtime as soon as they snap. johnnytheboy
Most Scandinavia hunters have their over and unders with slings on as they cover huge amount of ground, I think the above beretta bracket will be easiest to retro fit tbh
Twymyn
I prefer to have my gun on a sling when crossing the marsh just in case an opportunity presents itself. Thanks for your input
