Dekers
Hate the Hogue stock, other than that they are a sound well made gun that should work well!
Gonk
I have the varmint heavy stainless barrel in 223, shoots very very well! It's got a nice forest green laminate stock so can't comment on the hogue one.
team tractor
I’ve 2 of them and love them . My .223 shoots 30mm at 160 yards when I tried ( hardly tried) my 243 shoots really well. I’m confident with it at any range up to 4-500 yards. The houge stock is not a problem in my eyes with a sporter barrel . Its great as I don’t worry about dents or blood. I just wash it

Newbie to this
I have a Howa 1500 in .308 heavy varmint and it is a good shooting rifle with a nice crisp trigger. You won't be disappointed.
PPP
I have a 1500 .243 in grey laminate stock with fluted barrel and it shoots clover leaf grounds with 80gr Winchester or Federal at 100M
