Delwint
Came out of the house this morning and the truck wouldn’t unlock with it’s fob, came home from shooting and the lads says his car wouldn’t unlock with his fob either. Mrs gets home and says the car wouldn’t unlock with the fob. And I went to get in the van and that wouldn’t open either with it’s fob. Coincidence??? Hmmmm 🤔 Any ideas guys atb Delwint
Mice!
Sounds very strange, not had your keys near a big magnet or something? There was something on crime watch a few weeks back about people going into cars by scanning somehow and then being able to open or start keyless cars. Have you tried your spare keys? Delwint
A friend who’s in the force said similar, and to leave the keys in the microwave at night. As if that is the case, by leaving them in a microwave. The metal stops the code being read by the scanner. And the spare ones seems to work. But they are in the ammo safe

GingerCat
3 sets of batteries needed. The scanners do just that... scan. They don't disable your key.

And they're only relevant on vehicles with keyless entry where the door can be opened and vehicle started without taking the fob out of your pocket. The scanners detect the faint signal from within the house and amplify it so that the vehicle thinks the fob is close by. The crooks can then just open the door and drive away. bornfree
This happened a few weeks ago round here. And it was the army testing signal jamming equipment at a nearby training ground.
