Goldfish
A chicken farm I shoot over has a few night time visitors the owner would like to get rid of so I baited a known spot where they come through the fence. Carried on doing this until last night when I layed down in the wet grass, sighted in on the baited spot 60 yards away and fired a couple of rounds to confirm all was right in the world. 9:40pm rolled round without a sighting, started to think about popping off a few rabbits.................... no, I needed to keep focused and watch my baited spot. Round the corner came Charlie, sniffed the air, walked to the baited area, stoped and looked straight at me hiding in the long grass in my full camo, hood and gloves with the breeze blowing into my face. How do they know??? All too late for Charlie, the gun was in possition on the pod, butt was in the shoulder and my eye was to the scope, and had been for the last hour. Squeeze, thump, down like a sack of spuds Shot square between the eyes.

rogo
I too was out last night. Farmer complained of two Foxes. Went to the farm at 6.30, Fox sat in middle of field. Couldn't get him to come to a call. He walked off so I decided to get in position further up a hedgeline. As I sat down he jumped out from "Underneath" me and ran off taking my heart with it!!. Not to be outdone, I decided to stay and see if he showed up again. 9.30 came and a Fox appears, shot him with my Remi .223, by 9.50 I had another 5 on top. 6 is my best ever and I will be going again tonight. Will take a camera this time though.

Goldfish
Answers to the questions Rifle .22LR CZ452 Varmint Bait Pile of chopped up bunnies in the same place eachtime I go out - 3 times a week. When the bunnies start getting eaten over night I return and slip into my predetermined 60 yard safe shooting spot and get out a book and flask to wait. Charlie always turns up as darkness falls, would you spend all night walking around looking for food or run headlong to the safe feeding zone the moment you comeout?
