Not sure why folk would be bothered having pigeons in there gardens? The magpies do strut about some though! 21 minutes ago, defender said: Including one with a red chest that's been about for a while that goes cheep cheep cheep on and off all day. can't imagine you haven't identified a robin? So is it a bullfinch? Black head.
DUNKS
Only dawn chorus we get now is the damn dog at the bottom of the garden. 6 to 6.30 for an hour or so until they go off to work and shut it in the house. Still barks then but I can hardly hear it.

Including one with a red chest that's been about for a while that goes cheep cheep cheep on and off all day. Some of the woodies and doves come quite close. My guess is that it is a cock Chaffinch. I have been out at daybreak recently and the dawn chorus has been magical. There are no magpies in this village. There will be a perfectly good reason for that. It's usually far away like at the very top of a tall pine tree but it's got a loud cheep, I'm not sure if it adds a bunch of twittering after its cheeped for a while or if it's another bird joining in.
